Sequoia has been dancing professionally with fire since 2003. She began her fire art carreer in 1999 in the bay area. She currently lives and teaches Fire ART classes in Sacramento and is available for solo performances.
Upon moving to Sacramento, she collaborated with another artist and began the performance art troupe Obsidian Butterfly.
Obsidian Butterfly is an unconventional and non traditional ART troupe. We use ART as a means of self expression, healing, and spiritual growth to create performances that weave our many talents into one production. Our shows are an alchemical blend of ecstatic expression through movement and dance, poetic storytelling, fire, ritual, ancient mystery, and everyday life. No show is the same. We are community oriented and welcome anyone who wishes to learn, teach, or express themselves through any form of ART. The end result is a beautiful dance and a mind blowing experience.
